Butch in April 2007

This site is dedicated to the memory of Butch the WonderDog who died on May 26, 2007.

She was almost 16 years old.

She was a great dog who brought endless joy to everyone who loved her.

After her initial puppy mischief stage she was as obedient as anybody could hope for, and even seemed to anticipate what I was going to have her do before I asked as she matured.

Butch was the best dog anyone could ever hope for.

She was a poodle-terrier mix who came from Dessin Animal Shelter in Honesdale Pennsylvania.  In her youth she swam in lakes, dug holes, chased chipmunks and squirrels, played with little kids and had a great life between New York City and Whitney Lake in Pennsylvania.

Even before Butch was gone I knew I wanted another dog and started scouting the animal shelters and rescues looking for a poodle mix, female, larger than usual.  Poodle mixes are great dogs.  They are smart and eager to please, and most any dog with some poodle in her won't shed.  And no, I don't like small yappy dogs.
